No faith in BSA!

CUSTOMERS and tradespeople affected by the collapse of Coral Coast Homes and Steelsmart Homes gave a vote of no confidence in the Building Services Authority at a meeting on Thursday night.

Emotions ran high at the meeting, when about 45 people met with Member for Burnett Rob Messenger to air their grievances.

“We are calling for an independent investigation and legal assistance from the government so that people can pursue civil action,” Mr Messenger said.

“We plan to hold a public meeting and invite the Minister (for Public Works Robert Schwarten) and senior department officials.”

Meanwhile, a trailer full of office furniture was removed from the Bourbong Street offices of the company yesterday as liquidators moved in to count its assets.

  2. Wow!! Who really are the criminals here. As much as I would like to blame John Biles I would like to ask where the hell have the BSA been? Why was this company not regularly audited by the BSA? Come to think of it why isn't everyone audited. Not in a mean ATO style of audit but in a manner where companies (or Sole Traders) can get assistance on their finances.

The government has a lot to answer for. Wait until the lying Premier Anna decides to get political value from this.

What Rob Messenger needs to do here is be straight to the point:

    1. How will the homes get completed? As in who will fund this?

    2. Who will finish the builds? Local builder or an out of towner?

    3. What actions both civil and criminal will John Biles be charged with?

Everyone will be emotional for a while but only good leadership here will see people get some resolution to their problems. Unfortunately most tradies will lose whats owed if the reports are true that their is no money. It would be good for the tradies and customers work together under the leadership of a suitable independent person.

  4. In my opinion ALL STAFF of CCH ETC are accountable, because if they knew what was going on they should have informed the authorities before now. And if they did then the BSA has no leg to stand on for a huge niss justice.

But all under John biles who worked for him are still liable.

  5. I think you cannot blame all the staff that ever worked for CCH. Don't forget the guys in the field and those in the office. I would suggest finding blame with those that knew about the financial situation or should have known. Did John Nairn know what was going on or not? If he did then he should be taken to court. What about other staff? Did John Biles wife work at CCH also? Who else was in a position to know what was going on? Lets be sure to blame this on the ones responsible and who knew what was going on.

John Biles is his own man. For those that know him can vouch that he runs his company HIS way and wont take advice from people. I would suggest he may have even swindled John Nairn out of a few dollars here.

Let me ask the question to you John Nairn, How much has John Biles ripped you off? Did YOU know he was ripping the customers and tradies off? What was your job at CCH?

  6. I just found the details for Coral Coast Homes' accounts manager, Angela. Search Coral Coast Homes on facebook and the first person on the list is her. She states that she has worked for Coral Coast Homes since July 2004 until present. Nothing to be proud of Ang! I just received the very long list of secured creditors in the mail yesterday, it's too long to know that something wasn't going on! Rot in hell with John Biles *****!

  7. I wonder if she will do a deal with the police to get John Biles put away for life. Given her role in the company she would have to have known everything that was going on. Maybe she could enjoy a little cell time as well. Wasn't John Biles wife working there for a while?

  8. Angela probably organised his getaway. I should pass her details onto the police. Are they doing anything to find him?

  9. John Nairn can be blamed as much as he bullied many of the customers for their payments.
Even if he was told to do it he is still liable, he could have resigned and got another job.

I guess it's like you stealing the car because your mate says to do it, you either do and commit the crime or you run away from him and have a clear path? choices are made.

  10. I think you will find that John Nairn requested payment by clients when the work was done as per the contract. This is what happens in business.

  11. Garbage, he did alot more then that.
But of course you know more.

  12. Not in that business as we keep hearing they even ask for money before the work is done, but hang on facts are only things that are seen by those willing to open their eyes.
